Glenn Miller Memorial

In the past, a number of walks west of Peterborough and north of Oundle have included a stop at the Genn Miller Memorial on King's Cliffe airfield. The latest led walk started in Wansford in July 2024. 

A plaque on a stone there commemorates the place where the famous band leader gave his last airfield concert before he disappeared on a flight in bad weather in 1944. There are information boards nearby. See slide show below.
